Mr. John Robert Smith Sr. 80, of Arundel, Maine, passed away Thursday, July 22nd, 2021 following an extended illness. John was born, July 25, 1940, in Lynn, Massachusetts to Mr. Charles Smith Sr. and Mrs. Dorothy Patton Smith. John worked for the Maine Department of Transportation for many years assisting in road construction along with various other jobs. John loved woodworking, building bird houses, lawn ornaments, hunting and fishing. John is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorothy Smith; his brother Charles Smith Jr.; his first wife Carolyn Gay Smith; son Brian Smith; and stepdaughter Lisa Cyr. John is survived by his wife Margarette (Margie) Langille Smith of Arundel; sister Donna White of Arundal; son John R. Smith Jr. of Buxton; daughter Deborah Willette of Saco; stepson Randy Cyr of Greenville, S.C.; stepson Thomas Cyr of Casco; stepdaughter Lynne Juarez of Scarborough; stepson Karl Cyr; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Arundel Fire Department in memory of John. Visiting Hours will 12-00p.m.-2:00p.m. on Friday, July, 30th, 2021 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.
