Phyllis Ruth Huckeby, 79, of Ada, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 in Ada.

Phyllis was born December 29, 1941 to James Houston and Gladys Roark in Allen, Oklahoma.

Ruthie, as she was known to her family and loved ones, is survived by her two children, son Hondo Huckeby and Tonya Eldred of Ada, and son Tony Huckeby and Beverly Tramble of Antlers, grandchildren Jacey Thomson and husband John, of Stonewall, Jesse Huckeby, of Ada, Cody Tramble and wife Cheyenne of Hugo, Maranda Morehead and husband Chase of Antlers, Jericho Huckeby of Antlers, Nieces, Margie Thomas of Ada, Jan Hudson and husband Jay of Ada. Regina Roark of Durango, Colorado, Leeann Starr and husband David of Aubrey, Texas, Cathy Roark of Edmond, Nephew Danny Chiles of Allen, Eric Roark and wife Connie of Durango, Colorado, as well as a large number of great nieces, great nephews, and great grandchildren.

Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Roark and Gladys Roark, brother Gale Roark, brother Herman Roark, sister Jimmie Nell Chiles, twin brother Phillip Bruce Roark, and nephew Davey Roark.

Ruthie graduated high school from Allen, Oklahoma, then spent time in Hennessy, Oklahoma with her brother working as a telephone operator. She came back to Allen and married Harvey Huckeby Sr. on September 27, 1963. She followed Harvey to Germany while he was in the U.S. Army. She returned home in 1965.

Ruthie worked for several insurance companies and Real Estate companies in her younger years, and with her sister, Jimmie Nell, who owned Le Girl’s Clothing store in Ada. Later, she spent 22 wonderful years at East Central University in the Athletic and Kinesiology Departments, where she had many great friends over the years.

Ruthie was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Ada for many years. She loved spending time with grandchildren and family.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 28th, 2021 at First Assembly of God Church in Ada, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Allen Cemetery in Allen, Oklahoma.

A family visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 27th, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Estes-Phillips Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Huckeby, John Thomson, Cody Tramble, David Starr, Eric Roark, and Corey Logan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jericho Huckeby, Matt McGaha, Scott Long, and Robbie Kinder.
