Angela Mezey

Angela Mezey, 66, of Peapack, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center after a twelve-year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Guanacaste, Costa Rica on November 6, 1954. In 1976 she immigrated to the United States and lived in Long Valley and Chester, NJ before moving to Peapack in 2010. Angela was a nurturing soul, one who sought to care for everyone who entered her life, even if she only knew them briefly. She found joy in the beauty around her and used her intelligence and creativity to share this beauty with others. Angela's home was the place where her love for others and her quest for beauty intersected. There she could express her aesthetic vision, where no detail of the decor was insignificant. But, more importantly, it was also the place where she hosted countless warm and inviting gatherings for her beloved family and dear friends. She was an avid reader, an exceptional cook, and a savvy shopper. She was known to all for her flair for fashion and took pride in looking her best at all times. But above all, Angela was loved for her kindness and generosity to both friends and strangers, and her fierce loyalty to those she loved. Angela is survived by her husband of 45 years Thomas J. Mezey; her children, Veronica Dolnick of Lambertville, NJ, John T. Mezey of New York, NY and Jill Mezey of Chester, NJ; two grandchildren, Matthew and Kate; her mother, Lia Ledezma; siblings, Juan, Felix, Teresa, and Roberto; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Angela's Life Celebration will include a memorial visitation on Wednesday July 28, 2021 from 4pm – 8pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday July 29, 2021, at 11am at St. Luke Parish in Long Valley, NJ. Interment will be held privately by her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Angela's memory to the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, through Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, 475 South Street, First Floor, Morristown, NJ 07960.
