Norman Jay Brantley Obituary

Norman J. Brantley-age 72 of Sharps Chapel passed away Friday evening, July 23, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital at Tennova North surrounded by loved ones. Norman was born March 26. 1949 in Sharps Chapel to Roy and Willie (White) Brantley. Norman proudly served his country in the Vietnam War and was a U. S. Army Veteran. Norman was a strong, kind, loving and supportive father and husband. His Knowledge and guidance were the foundation of his family and he was also a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Willie Brantley; son, James (Jimmy) Brantley; brothers, Troy, Arthur, Charlie, David, Willis (Buzz), Arnold and Darryl Brantley. He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Glenda Dyke Brantley; sister, Lisa Gilbert; daughters, Debra (Ben) Moyers and Julie (Adam) Kitts; grandchildren, Jacob, Seth, Noah, Emma, Fayth, Hope and a host of nieces and nephews. Special family friends, Ernest Hatmaker and Julie Cowell. Graveside service and interment 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2021, Brantley Family Cemetery, Dyke Road, Sharps Chapel, Rev. Randy Moore officiating. Military graveside rites will be presented by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Jacob Moyers, Seth Moyers, Noah Moyers, Jay Dyke, Jeffrey Smith, Justin Collins. Honorary Pallbearers: Kevin Collins and Ricky Brantley. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville
