Clifford William Deering New Germany, Nova Scotia Obituary

Clifford William Deering

Clifford William Deering December 3, 1955 – July 22, 2021 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that Craig, Simon, and I announce that our beloved Cliff, at the age of 65, has left the building. Husband, Father, Grandfather, friend, lover, confidante, provider, athlete, handyman and modifier extraordinaire…Cliff was all that and more. His passing will leave a void in our hearts and in our lives that will last forever. Along with his immediate family, wife of 30 years Krista and sons Craig (April), and Simon (Lindsay) and three grandchildren Cameron, Heather, and Raymond. Cliff leaves behind his two brothers Garfield and Gordon and his sister Christine and their families. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland December 3, 1955, Cliff has led a vibrant and active life. From playing golf (right up to the week before his death) and hockey, to cruising Georgian Bay in Ontario, and in the Virgin Islands, owning a property in the Dominican Republic to his and Krista’s latest adventure, which is a horse farm in New Germany, Nova Scotia, Cliff has never been one to shy away from new experiences. Cliff was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbours. Both Craig and Simon’s friends growing up often relied on Cliff to help them out of a pickle. Loved by many, Cliff was one of the good ones and will be missed terribly. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany. A private family graveside service will be held in Indian Brook Cemetery, Barss Corner, Rev Catherine Robar officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences and donations may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Cliff. I met Cliff many years ago when he worked for Etobicoke Parks and played shinny at lunch at one of the outdoor rinks. Years later I met Cliff playing in a men's hockey league in Toronto. I will never forget scoring ... Continue Reading

I didn’t spend as much time around Cliff as I did Krista but she seemed to carry him with her wherever she went so I felt that I knew him well. He was so often in our conversations and once she actually even brought him along physically to our exercise class. I was so ... Continue Reading

So sorry to hear this Krista.  I am disappointed to have missed the opportunity to meet Cliff in person. Cirrus thought very highly of him.  We're thinking of you and your family and wishing you well throughout this difficult time.

Remembering several wonderful dinners with Krista and Cliff, one that stands out for us is when we celebrated A Boxing Day dinner at our home 2019. Cliff was our horseman, assisting to round up the horses when they would avoid capture. The love I witnessed between Krista... Continue Reading
