Olanta - Mr. Stephen Gatson Floyd, age 62, passed away Monday June 10, 2013 at a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday, June 13th, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church in Olanta with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6pm - 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Born in Florence County, he was a son of Elisabeth "Sis" Cook Floyd and the late Jack Hicks Floyd. He retired from the Florence County Detention Center was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and attended Union Crossroads Baptist Church. Surviving besides his mother of Olanta, are his wife, Debra "Debbie" Lee Floyd of Olanta. Two daughters; Melody Holmes of Denison, Texas and Allison Reynolds of Lincolnton, N.C. One son, Eric Parker of Lincolnton, N.C. Two brothers, Jackie Floyd and Bill Floyd of Olanta. Three grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.
