Margie Godwin Chandler Olanta Margie Godwin Chandler age 87, died May 14, 2013 at her home after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock AM Friday May 17, 2013 at Olanta Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 pm Thursday May 16 at the funeral home. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Chalmers Luke Godwin and Anna Huggins Godwin. Mrs. Chandler was retired from Florence School District 3 as a business teacher, She was a graduate of The University of South Carolina and also attended Winthrop College, She was a former secretary of The Olanta Garden Club, a member of Olanta Presbyterian Church and the Women's Circle of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband; Ernest Thompson "Bud" Chandler and a son William Bruce "Bill" Chandler. Surviving are a daughter; Kay (Hank) Tennent of Florence, a son; Ernest Thompson "Tommy" Chandler and partner Wayne Gaddy of Murrells Inlet, a sister; Sybil (Phil) Quillin of Virginia Beach, Va., three grandchildren; Kayce Gibson and Drew Gibson both of Florence, Caroline Chandler of Knightdale, N.C.
