Michael William Motz

Michael William Motz went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2021. He was loved by many and will be missed greatly. He was born in Flagstaff, Arizona on November 26, 1992. From a young age, he was very curious and enjoyed learning. He spent many hours researching, designing, and building various things. Education was important to him and he earned degrees in engineering and mathematics from Pensacola Christian College in 2016, a Master of Mathematics from the University of West Florida in 2019, and was pursuing a doctoral degree in engineering from Mississippi State University. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Teaching engineering students at Pensacola Christian College was a great joy of his. He looked for opportunities to help other people. Using the gifts God gave him, he helped in many ways and shared his faith. Michael is survived by his parents Robert and Dena Motz, his sisters, Amelia Motz, Dorothy Motz, Rebecca Motz, and Esther Motz; his brothers, Joseph Motz, Peter Motz, and Philip Motz; and his grandmother Elinor Olsen. Surviving aunts, uncles, and cousins are: Diane and Michael Smith, Yvonne and Edward Wilson, Bonnie and Dominick Patricelli, Robert and Lois LaBove, Sharon and Robert Hauserman, Richard and Dawn Olsen, Lori and Aaron Bator, Sarah Shepkosky, Christopher Geary, Jennifer Kelly, Mindy Juntti-DelCamp, Matthew LaBove, Christopher LaBove, Nicole Hatcher, Loran Hauserman, Joshua Hauserman, Sarah Olsen, and Mia Olsen. Preceding Michael in passing were his grandparents Robert Motz, Pebble Motz, and Robert Olsen and his cousin Ryan Juntti. Visitation will be Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at Mullenix Chapel, Pensacola Christian College. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Pastor Jeff Redlin and Pastor Josh Burdick will be officiating. Interment will be at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
