Rosemary C. Moll Obituary

Rosemary C. Moll, age 90, of East Syracuse, formerly of Clinton, NY, died on July 20, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born April 26, 1931 in Greenfield, MA, the daughter of James J. and Dorothy Hutchings Cotton. She was a 1949 graduate of Greenfield High School and 1953 graduate of Boston University’s Sargent College with a degree in Physical Therapy. On July 23, 1955 she was united in marriage to William J. Moll in St. James Church, Greenfield, MA. She began her career as a Physical Therapist with the United Cerebral Palsy and Handicapped Association of Syracuse and continued at Hill Haven Nursing Home. In 1969, her family moved to Clinton, NY, where she became a Physical Therapist at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home (Utica), Charles Sitrin Nursing Home (New Hartford), and Oneida County BOCES. Rosemary served on the board of the Utica Symphony League, Welcome Wagon Club and was a past president of Four Seasons Garden Club.  She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church, Clinton, NY, where she served on the Vestry and Altar Guild.  Upon returning to the Syracuse area in 2005, she became a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, NY.  She actively participated in many sports including college level basketball as well as recreational downhill skiing and swimming, and was an avid walker, golfer and tennis player well into her late 80's.  Surviving are her loving husband, William; three sons and two daughters-in-law, William J. Moll, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Delmar, NY, Brian C. Moll of Malden, MA, and Garrett J. Moll (Christine); and granddaughters, Makenna and Kinsey Moll of Pompey, NY.  In addition, she is survived by many adored cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Marjorie C. Pelc and brothers, Richard J. Cotton and John A. Cotton. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Trinity Episcopal Church, 106 Chapel St, Fayetteville on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 10 AM. Currently, masks are required inside the church. Her ashes will be interred at the St. James Church Columbarium in Clinton, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Church, 106 Chapel St., Fayetteville, NY 13066, St. James Church, 9 Williams St., Clinton, NY 13323 or a charity of your choice.
