BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Rosalinda G. Withers of Brownsville, Texas, entered into eternal rest peacefully in her sleep after a long bout with illness on Thursday, the 22nd of July 2021, in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her loving family at age ninety-three. 

 

Rosalinda was born in Brownsville, Texas on October 7th, 1927 to Felicitos, Sr. and Santos Gonzalez. She graduated high school at Incarnate Word Academy in Brownsville, Texas. Rosalinda managed the office of Dr. John C. Withers EENT Clinic for many years. They united in marriage in 1989 until his passing in 1995. A devout Catholic, she loved attending mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Spending time with her family was important to her and she enjoyed traveling to visit her nieces. Rosalinda was a cheerful, fun-loving person and incredible and a beloved sister, wife, and aunt who was full of life. Her smile could light up a room and it was infectious. We wish her peace and we will always love her. 

 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. John C. Withers; her younger brothers, Felicitos Gonzalez, Jr. and Antonio M. Gonzalez; her sisters-in-law, Tomasita Gonzalez and Guadalupe P. Gonzalez; her parents, Felicitos, Sr. and Santos M. Gonzalez; and by her grandparents, great-grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

 

She is survived by her nieces and nephews Norma Huron of Colorado City, Texas, Richard A. Gonzalez of Brownsville, Texas, Maria Teresa Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, Maria Cecilia Curtis of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Maria Elena McNew of Leander, Texas, and Maria Rosalinda Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas; her beloved grand-nephews and grand-nieces Jennifer Gaona, David A. Garcia, Robert McNew, Robin McNew, Rachel McNew, and Caleb Curtis; and by her step-sons Gary Withers, Steven Withers, and Michael Withers. 

 

A Graveside Service will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 29th of July 2021 at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville, Texas where Rosalinda will be laid to rest beside her husband, Dr. John C. Withers.
