Orbra “Jr” D. Wassmann, 72 of Westland, MI, formerly of Rosebud, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens. 

Jr was currently employed at Loc Performances, Inc. in Plymoth, MI, where he worked for the past 22 years. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and an Army veteran. Jr enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering on cars and working on anything that had a small engine.

Jr is survived by his children, Gayla Dexter (Walter Burgin), Ben Wassmann (Dori Tamyo) and Courtney Tabor; grandchildren, Alisia Morgan (Bryan), Gabriella, and two other grandchildren as well as, Sebastian, Charlie, and Jessica; great grandchildren, Presley “my precious” Morgan, 1 great grandson due in October, as well as Nathan and A.J.; two sisters, Jeanetta Maddock and Wanetta Stafford; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orbra Wellington and Bertha (Deasel) Wassmann; first wife, Linda Wassmann; one son, Orbra D. Wassmann, Jr.; one sister, Hanna Palmer.

Visitation with the family will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31st at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
