Chris Eugene Davis Obituary

Chris Eugene Davis, 64, longtime Altamont resident died at 11:06 P.M., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. He was born December 27, 1956 at Rural Altamont, a son of James Christopher and Jo Vornora (Peterson) Davis. He grew up and attended school at Edna and graduated from the Labette County High School. He then was employed thirty-one years at the Thomas Implement Company. He later worked at H&D Tire and was currently working at Bebb Farms and operated a mowing service part-time. On February 15, 1975 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Sue Winn at the Church of the Brethren. She survives of the home. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren which became New Life Church. He enjoyed working puzzles, fishing, and woodworking. He loved coaching and coached basketball teams throughout the years. In past years he was also the President of Little League for USD 506. In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son – Shawn Davis, Altamont, KS; one daughter and son in-law – Nina and Andre Morris, Parsons, KS; five granddaughters – Jade Davis, St. Louis, MO, Sage Davis, Altamont, KS, Samantha Morris, Parsons, KS, Zoey Davis, Altamont, KS, Callie Davis, El Dorado, KS; two brothers – Harold Davis, Coffeyville, KS, James Davis, Cherryvale, KS; two sisters – Bertha Campbell, Coffeyville, KS, Roberta Cox, Coffeyville, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers – Edward Lee Davis, Lester Davis and one sister – Valerine Davis. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home at Parsons with Les Green officiating. Burial will be in the Hatch Cemetery at Uniontown. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Parsons Arboretum or to the Proud Animal Lovers Shelter.
