Rita Lynn Lawrence, 65, of Somerville, Alabama passed away Wednesday July 21, 2021 at her home. She was born on May 6, 1956 to Cecil and Grace Smith. She retired from Chrysler after 32 years. Rita enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by father, Cecil Smith, mother, Grace Smith, sister Carol Sanders, sister Janice Morrison, step mother Lucille Smith, step brother Glen Downs and sister in law Gloria Lawrence.

Survivors are husband Jackie Lawrence, son Billy (Sherrie) Hopkins, son Joshua (Kristy) Hopkins, son Lee Lawrence, daughter Heather (Michael) Weesner, grandchildren Kyle (Ashley) Pate, Cleth Hopkins, Garrett (Savanna) Hopkins, Gracie Hopkins, Drake Hopkins, Lakota Hopkins, and Caiden Weesner. Great granddaughter  Mia Clark and a great grandson. Nieces Joann Kent, Christy Hollingsworth, Kelly (Carl) Dudley. Step sister Susan (John) Sasser, mother in law Helen Simmons, sisters in law Marie Tuggle, Marilyn Hubbard, Edna Brizendine, brothers in law Johnny Lawrence, Jimmy Lawrence and many more nieces nephews and beloved family members.

Visitation will be Sunday July 25, 2021 at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama at 1:00 pm. Services will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Spry Funeral Home with Jack Freeman officiating. Interment will be in Hobbs Island Church Cemetery.
