Bertha Radvikus

Bertha Radvikus, nee Vega, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Romeoville, Bertha worked at A. Vito Martinez Middle School as a Lunch Room Aide and was lovingly referred to as “grandma” by many. She was also known as “The Tamale Lady” of Romeoville, as everyone knew her tamales were the best. Bertha was a member of the senior club of Romeoville’s recreational center and enjoyed playing Bingo and gambling. She is survived by her dear children Robert Radvikus Jr., Elena (Robert) Austin, and Beverly Radvikus; fond brother Jose (Juanita) Figueroa; cherished grandchildren Shawn and Nick Austin and Joshua and Adam Radvikus; and precious great-granddaughter Aaliyah Austin. Bertha is preceded in death her beloved husband Robert Radvikus, Sr.; dear parents Jesus and Luz (nee Gonzalez) Vega; and siblings Lucy, Enriqueta, Elvira, Manuel and Elena. Memorial visitation Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Anderson Memorial Home, 21131 W Renwick Rd., Plainfield, IL 60544 from 3-8 pm with a memorial service beginning at 6 pm. Services conclude at the funeral home, cremation rites to be accorded.
