James "Jim" Joseph Davies Obituary

James Joseph “Jim” Davies, 73, of Black Mountain passed away with his dog, Lexie by his side on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Mr. Davies was born on May 4, 1948 to the late Elnora M. Davies and James E. Davies. He was a retired Buncombe County teacher who taught fifth grade at Johnston Elementary and later at WD Williams Elementary. Jim loved reading to his students and granddaughter, Mackenzie. He enjoyed holding his grandbaby, Jamie. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David. He is survived by his wife, Helen Davies; son, Curtis Davies (Amanda); granddaughters, Mackenzie and Jamie; brother, Howard Davies (Julie); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jim’s cousin, Joanne, Four Seasons Hospice, and their wonderful family and friends who reached out with prayers and generous acts of kindness.
