Marie Dismuke Hickerson

<p>Marie Dismuke Hickerson, age 77, of White Hall, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021. She was a very loving person who never met a stranger.</p><p><br></p><p>Born at Humphrey, AR on April 16, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Robert Dismuke, Sr. and Margaret Thomas Dismuke. She and her family moved to White Hall in 1960 and she graduated from White Hall High School in 1962. She also attended Arkansas A&amp;M College (now the University of Arkansas at Monticello) for two years.</p><p><br></p><p>Marie was a member of Humphrey Baptist Church as a child. She became a member of Central Baptist Church when she moved to White Hall, and was also a former member of Shannon Road Baptist Church. While living in McGehee for several years, she was a member of Chickasaw Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>She was gifted and had many talents. Among her crafting activities were ceramics, cross-stitching, knitting, macramé, and flower arranging. Marie was also an excellent cook and had operated a catering business.</p><p><br></p><p>She worked for Stant Manufacturing for a number of years. Marie was selected as “Woman of the Year” in 1994-95 for the Alpha Tau chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Patsy Cook, Robert Dismuke, Jr., and Leon Dismuke.</p><p><br></p><p>Marie adored all of her family. She is survived by a daughter, Renee Granderson (Clint); the “apple of her eye”, her granddaughter, Ashley Granderson Morris (Jeff); along with loving nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be Saturday, July 24, 2021, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Todd Howard officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Stephanie Hunter, and Jefferson Home Health. Marie was always happy to see her nurses during their visits. Throughout her illness, she never complained and was always encouraging others. She will be greatly missed.</p>
