<p>Deborah Oakes, age 70, of 100 Loraine Woods Drive, Macon, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon.</p> <p>Born in Randolph Township, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Covert and Margaret Wright Covert. Deborah worked as a legal secretary for many years. She enjoyed playing golf, fishing, camping and spending time with her family.</p> <p>Survivors include:<br /> Husband: John Bowden Oakes of Bolingbroke</p> <p>Son: Kristopher Jayden Oakes of Bolingbroke</p> <p>Sister: Sheri Cox of Easton, PA</p> <p>Step-Sons: John Oakes and Gene Waring</p> <p>Step-Daughters: Tami Waring, Joy May and Elizabeth Oakes</p> <p>Grandsons: Levi Waring and David Waring, Jr.</p> <p>Step-Grandchildren: several</p> <p>Nieces/Nephews: several</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Waring; her son, David Allen Waring, her granddaughter, Danielle Kaitlin Waring; her brother, Ted Covert; her sister, Barbara Banks.</p> <p>Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 31 in Pinehurst City Cemetery.
