<p>Deborah Oakes, age 70, of 100 Loraine Woods Drive, Macon, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon.</p> <p>Born in Randolph Township, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Covert and Margaret Wright Covert.&nbsp; Deborah worked as a legal secretary for many years.&nbsp; She enjoyed playing golf, fishing, camping and spending time with her family.</p> <p>Survivors include:<br /> Husband:&nbsp; John Bowden Oakes of Bolingbroke</p> <p>Son:&nbsp; Kristopher Jayden Oakes of Bolingbroke</p> <p>Sister:&nbsp; Sheri&nbsp;Cox of Easton, PA</p> <p>Step-Sons:&nbsp; John Oakes and Gene Waring</p> <p>Step-Daughters:&nbsp; Tami Waring, Joy May and Elizabeth Oakes</p> <p>Grandsons:&nbsp; Levi Waring and David Waring, Jr.</p> <p>Step-Grandchildren:&nbsp; several</p> <p>Nieces/Nephews:&nbsp; several</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Waring; her son, David Allen Waring, her granddaughter, Danielle Kaitlin Waring; her brother, Ted Covert; her sister, Barbara Banks.</p> <p>Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 31 in Pinehurst City Cemetery.&nbsp; Mr. Mike Bowden will officiate.</p> <p>Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.</p> <p>Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla has charge of arrangements.</p>

Son:  Kristopher Jayden Oakes of Bolingbroke

Sister:  Sheri Cox of Easton, PA

Step-Sons:  John Oakes and Gene Waring

Step-Daughters:  Tami Waring, Joy May and Elizabeth Oakes
