William Stafford Bishop

William Stafford Bishop, age 62, of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of Judith Johnson Bishop. He was the father of John W. Bishop. Born in Providence, the son of the late William F. and Dorothy M. (Hultenius) Bishop, he was a life-long Warwick resident. He was the owner of Bishop & Weeden Fire Protection in Warwick for the last 26 years. Pawtuxet Village was an important part of his life. The annual Gaspee Days Parade was one of the highlights of his life. He was a member of the Warwick Firefighters Association, the Pawtuxet Volunteer Fire Co., the Pawtuxet Athletic Club, Harmony Lodge # 9 F. & A.M., and the Rhode Island Shriners. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by a sister, Kristine Bishop Chapman and her husband Gary, of Wakefield; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 27, from 4-7 p.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. A graveside service will be on Wednesday, July 28, at 11 a.m. in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, 6365 Post Road, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, or the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, P.O.
