George D. Lamphier

George D. Lamphier, 57, of Bath, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. He succumbed to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Bath a month ago. George was born in Hornell, NY on July 3, 1964, the son of William O. and Wilma M. (Abbey) Lamphier. Raised in Cameron, he attended Addison Central School. George had been employed at the Golden Age Cheese Company in Woodhull and later at Storflex in Riverside. His last job was working as a custodian for P&C Grocery in Bath. On September 17, 2011, George married the former Michele Miles. An avid hunter and fisherman, George had been a member of the Painted Post Field and Stream. He was a loving husband, son and brother and truly enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Surviving is his wife, Michele Lamphier of Bath, his step children, Shawne Rae Miles and Joshua Anderson-Miller, his mother, Wilma Lamphier of Corning, his siblings, Blanche (Andy) Stephens of Woodhull, Joyce Lamphier (Robert Hobbs) of Adrian, Mabel Lamphier of Andover and Russell Lamphier of McCoy, FL, father in law, Kenneth Shull, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins including special nieces and nephews, Bill and Shearee Stephens, Andy Stephens Jr., John Stephens, Willis Stephens and Christina Stephens, brother in law and sister in law, Nathan and Sarah Shull and dear friends, Bob Tuttle and Scott Ames. George was preceded in death by his father, William Lamphier and his mother in law, Deborah Shull. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 27 from 5 to 7 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. A memorial service will follow there at 7 pm with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating.
