<p>Alice Mae (Barnes) Greene, 78, of Charlestown, RI passed away at her home Sunday, July 18th after a brief illness. Born in Wakefield, RI she was the daughter of the late Roy H. Barnes, Jr. and Lillian Marshall.<br /> <br /> Alice graduated from URI and worked at Guild music until they closed. She went on to work as a purchasing manager for Ashaway Line and Twine until her retirement. Alice was also a master gardener and belonged to The Arbutus Garden Club. She enjoyed being in her garden growing many flowers, plants and herbs. She loved sewing, country music and delving in the stock market. She loved her dividends!<br /> <br /> She is survived by her 2 granddaughters Brittany Fox and Jennifer Smith and her husband James. 4 siblings Gary Barnes, Gilbert Barnes, Gail Barnes Nichols and Dale Barnes; also companion Joe Leporacci. Alice also leaves 5 great grandkids Jasmin, Dustin, Christopher, Anna and Benjamin.<br /> She is predeceased by her parents, her husband of 56 years, David Greene, her daughter Rebecca Engstrume, son Christopher Greene, Siblings Carol Kenyon, Roy H. Barnes III and Roland Barnes.<br /> <br /> Burial will be held on Thursday, July 29th at 11AM at the Rhode Island Veteran&rsquo;s Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
