Anna Stump Hall

Anna Stump Hall, 88, of Martinsville, VA passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at King’s Grant. She was born May 28, 1933 in Russell County, VA to the late George Stump and Gedie Hess Stump. Mrs. Hall was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville, VA where she was a member of the Agape Sunday School class and enjoyed making greeting cards with the Ladies Card Ministry. She touched many lives in a positive way as she was an educator for 39 years. She was a teacher and guidance counselor for 17 years in Patrick County and Director of Guidance at Fieldale-Collinsville High School in Henry County for 22 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma where she served as treasurer for 25 years. She loved playing Bridge and was a member of several Bridge Clubs. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Robert Hall of King’s Grant; daughter, Susan H. Painter (Mike) of Danville, VA; step-daughter, Suzanne H. Wood (Mike) of Mooresville, NC; sister, Magdalene Bainter of Lebanon, KY; half-sister, Linda Bumgarner of Huntsville, AL; brother, William Stump of Union, OH; half-brother, James Allen Staten of Honaker, VA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Matthew Painter (Jessica) and Christopher Wood (Taylor); and great-grandchildren, Carson, Connor, and Daphne. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Rev. Dr. Larry Cheek officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Collinsville, 3339 Virginia Ave, Collinsville, VA 24078 or Grace Network, P.O. Box 3902, Martinsville, VA 24115. Anna was my children's guidance counselor at F-C. Every time that I saw her after she retired, she always asked about each of them. She remembered them and genuinely wanted to know about them and their families. She was definitely a class act!!!
