John R. Bailey, age 65, of Winder, GA, formerly of Chamblee, GA, took his heavenly flight home soaring on the wings like an eagle on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services for John will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory with Rev. Michael Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park, Peachtree Corners, GA. The family will gather with friends on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. John was born February 29, 1956 in Chamblee, GA to the late Guy W. Bailey and the late Viola Garmon Bailey; also preceding John in death was brother, Bobby Bailey; sister, Ann Bailey; and brother-in-laws, Roy and Neil Harrison. John was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed watching movies, photography, trains and listening to music. John had a passion for collection of coins and eagles. Dearest times to John’s heart was the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. John is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Joyce Harrison Bailey; sons, Jeremy Bailey and wife Melissa, John Gripado and wife Michelle; daughters, Emily Fox, Jenny Born, and Rebecca Densmore and husband Scott; grandchildren, Zachary Looney, Angel Cannon, Destiny Fox, Jasmine Born, Georgia Donehoo, Sadie Fox, Journey Densmore, Harrison Fox, Luke McGinnis and Savannah McGinnis; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Heather, Carson, Richard and Ella; brother, Michael Bailey and wife Kathy; brother-in-law, Albert Harrison and wife Carolyn; sister-in-laws, Hazel Bailey, Ellen Harrison, Jackie Harrison, Nancy Collins, Judy Patterson and husband Ricky, and Diane Kitchens; his beloved cat “Molly”; as well as a host of extended family and close friends.
