Nancee J. (Mentzer) Smelser, of Chambersburg, passed away on July 21, 2021 at her home. Born August 24, 1932 in Tyrone, PA, she was the daughter of the late Howard D. and Madeline Ohrtman Mentzer. Nancee was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School. She was employed as a supervisor with United Telephone and later Sprint for 38 years until her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, traveling throughout Europe and going to the casino. She is survived by one sister, Ruth Rebecca Hampton of Winthrop, MA. Aside from her parents, Nancee was preceded in death by her husband Levi Smelser; one sister, Ellen Gottshall; and two brothers, Dean and William Mentzer. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
