<p>Mary Catherine Ellis, 79, passed away in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, July 18, 2021.&nbsp; Mary was born on January 2, 1942 to the late Lloyd and Anna Hammond in Louisville, Kentucky.&nbsp; She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend and neighbor.&nbsp; Mary always put others before herself and loved cooking family&nbsp;dinners for everyone. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and making crafts. Mary had a bit of a sweet tooth too, she loved soft drinks, snacks and sweets from the vending machines at Louisville East Post Acute-Nursing and Rehabilitation.&nbsp; The family would like to send out a special thank you to the staff at LEPA for the exceptional care Mary received while in their care for the past 15 years.&nbsp; Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.</p> <p>Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Cephus Hammond and Anna Virginia Hammond.</p> <p>Left to cherish her memory, Mary leaves behind a daughter, Pamela Ellis; a son, Bryan Ellis; a brother, Paul Hammond (Beverly); 2 cousins, Mary Ann and Thelma; 10 nieces and nephews; 3 grandsons; and 2 great grandchildren.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Mary Catherine Ellis, 79, passed away in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, July 18, 2021.  Mary was born on January 2, 1942 to the late Lloyd and Anna Hammond in Louisville, Kentucky.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend and neighbor.  Mary always put others before herself and loved cooking family dinners for everyone. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and making crafts.
