Paul Masciopinto, age 94, of Chicago, IL faithful and loyal husband and father was born into eternal life July 19, 2021. Paul was born in Bari, Italy on April 19, 1928, to Theresa La Joya and Peter Masciopinto. One of ten children, Paul left Italy at 22 to emigrate to America. He married Anna Marie Patano of Chicago in October 1950. Paul and Annie raised two sons, Peter and Michael. Paul learned the importance of the grocery business from family members, and he proudly worked as a skilled Butcher for various Chicago stores. He was well known and will be remembered for his summer gardens filled with Italian tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini. Paul was especially proud of his fig and peach trees. His summer barbecues and July 4th celebrations were legendary with family and friends. Listening to music, driving cars, and time with family were his happiest activities. Paul was a master storyteller and entertained many with incredible tales of his adventures from Bari to Chicago. Paul is survived by his sons Peter (Anne) and Michael (Kathleen); his granddaughters Michelle (Alan) Murnen, Danielle (Josh) Brackmann, and Katherine Masciopinto and his great grandchildren Jade and Austin Murnen and James and Michael Fairbairn. Paul is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Annie; along with his parents, siblings, and many relatives and friends. The family remains grateful to the dedicated caregivers at Lombard Place who lovingly called Paul: “Papi.” Private Interment All Saints Cemetery.
