Barbara Lee Falk

Longtime local resident and family matriarch Barbara Lee Falk, 91, of Kelso passed away at home July 18, 2021. She was born July 28, 1929, in Oilmont, Mont., to Aaron Lloyd and Ruth Evelyn (Haverlandt) Lindsey. After graduating from high school she married Leonard E. Falk in Anaconda, Mont., Oct. 24, 1948. They moved to Longview in 1952. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and nature; collecting antiques, particularly teacups; and loved traveling. She was an avid reader, and made the best pies known to man. First and foremost, Barbara enjoyed time with her family. She was a doting grandmother and went to all of grandchildren’s sporting events, dance recitals and other special occasions. She was kind and loving, funny and friendly. She loved talking to people, even strangers in the grocery store. Barbara’s greatest gift was the ability to always be grateful. She is survived by four children, Lynda D. Collingsworth of Sebastopol, Calif., R. Aaron Falk (Carol Shames) of Newcastle, Wash., Julie A. Darval (Steve) of Kelso, and Joni L. Koistinen (Roger) of Kalama; eight grandchildren, Damon Collingsworth, Erin Lang, Jaime Collingsworth, Nicholas Sisson, Jeff Sisson, Amanda Froberg, Alex Darval and Lauren Kahapea (Alyssa); a great-grandson, Von Sisson; and two sisters, Margaret Mason and Marylou Glasser, both in Montana. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Aaron Lindsey in 1931; a son, Ronald Edward Falk in 1949; her mother, Ruth Meeser in 2008; her beloved husband of 63 years, Leonard Falk in 2011; and a brother, Robert Lindsey earlier this year. A graveside memorial is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Cowlitz View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Research at breastcancer.org or 120 E Lancaster Ave., Suite 201, Ardmore, PA 19003. Final arrangements were entrusted to Steele Chapel.
