Smith, Kathleen It is with great sadness we; the family announce the passing of Kathie. Mother of Jay (Kaili), Peace River, Alberta. Jay was his mothers’ pride and joy. She was a sister to Timothy, Yarmouth, who she loved and daughter to Becky Smith, Carleton. Kathie worked as a nurse and loved working with the elderly. She was always looking out for the underdog, if someone were being mistreated, they could count on her. She raised her son to do the same. Kathie had a great sense of humour even throughout her illness. She was a lover of animals, especially cats. She also loved going to the beach. She was predeceased by her father, Tim; grandparents, Bernard and Kay Hattie; Glen and Thelma Smith. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be a celebration of life, Sunday, July 25th, 2021, from 4-6 pm at the Lions Club, Yarmouth.
