Donald F. Daigneault, 84, of Saco, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born on November 4, 1936, son of the late Antonio and Simonne (Bouthilette) Daigneault. Mr. Daigneault was educated locally, attending St. Joseph and St. Louis Highschool, graduating in 1955. He then spent three years in the Army Reserve. On October 25, 1958, Donald married Claire (Poirier), the love of his life. He worked for 13 years with M. H. Fishman Department Store, 5 years with Lerner’s Department Store in Petersburg, VA, and 6 years with Life of Virginia Insurance Company. Then, Met Life Insurance Company in Biddeford. His last full-time job was with Ames Department Store in Sanford. In his retirement, he worked part-time for Ben’s Flooring in Biddeford. Mr. Daigneault was a member of the St. Louis Alumni, past President and life member of the Virginia JayCees in Petersburg, VA, and served locally on the Recycling Committee in Alfred, ME. He thoroughly enjoyed sports, cards, and reading. He leaves behind his sons David Daigneault and his wife Kellie of Rochester, NH and Dennis Daigneault and his wife Cindy of Myrtle Beach, SC, daughter Debra Cyr of Saco, brother Richard Daigneault of Biddeford, 4 grandchildren, 1 niece, 3 nephews, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Claire (Poirier) Daigneault, and his brother Normand Daigneault. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
