MONONA - Patricia J. Kovalaske, age 81, of Monona, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021. She was born on Oct. 13, 1939, in Bemidji, Minn., the daughter of Conrad Braaten and Florence “Jean” Maclachlan. Patricia graduated from high school in Bemidji, Minn. She married Robert Kovalaske.
Pat worked as an executive assistant for MATC in Madison, retiring in 1997. She truly enjoyed being part of the MATC community and was a recipient of the Employee of the Year award.
Pat loved traveling to Hawaii to visit her daughter, Kimberly. She also enjoyed being with her friends at Pleasant Springs Pub in Stoughton and playing the machines (especially #3.) Pat could out talk anyone by continuing conversations using her Pig Latin skills.
Pat was always impeccably dressed from head to toe, which often included her many changing hairstyles from her vast wig collection. She was a fun loving and easy-going woman who even got her first tattoo in her sixties.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Tracy Fuller and Lisa Daujotas; grandsons, William (Amanda) Fuller and Braaten Daujotas; granddaughters, Rebecca (Deontay Mitchell) Fuller, Tanya (Mercedez Garcia) Kraege and Katherine Daujotas; and other great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Kimberly Wheeler; brothers, Richard and William Braaten; and a sister, Sallie Moyer.
