Gary "Moe" A. Gustafson, 69, of Johnsburg, Illinois, passed away on July 18th, 2021. Gary was born March 1, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. His family knew him as a hard working, kind and loving man. He was always very generous with his time and knowledge and always quick to help anyone that needed it. Sometimes that eagerness led to some unfathomable situations. Like having to release wildlife from a trap, while dressed in formal wedding attire. Gary was a dedicated grandfather often going to great lengths to make every event special for his grandchildren. He always looked forward to his annual fishing trips up north and spoiling his 4 year old German Shepherd, Heidi. Gary is survived by his three sons, Scott (Jessica) Gustafson of Round Lake Heights, Illinois, Brandon (Beth) Gustafson of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. and Chris (Katie) Gustafson of Island Lake, Illinois; three grandchildren Lexi, Evelyn and Gavin Gustafson, his siblings Max Gustafson, Greg Gustafson, Mark Gustafson and Roxanne Schelp and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Max Gustafson and his wife Paula M Gustafson (Kretler). A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 30th at Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 North Rosedale Court, Round Lake, Illinois 60073, with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home.
