Joseph Campbell Rogers, 95, died Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord.  He was born June 13, 1926 in Concord the son of William J. and Agnes (Graham)  Rogers.  Growing up the family lived in Deerfield and Pittsfield before finally settling in Loudon.  Joe went to work at a young age, logging with horses and farming. Early on he established his own construction company, J.C.Rogers Corporation and later New Hampshire Concrete Corporation running the businesses during good weather and plowing for the State during the winters.  He later worked for Merrimack Pools, retiring as a rural route mail carrier for Pittsfield.  

During World WW II he served in the US Army. In 1951 he met Madeline Huckins whom he married.  They were an amazing team for almost 60 years before her passing.  Together they raised a family, camped all over the country, worked with their churches and at different mission projects, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to Guatemala, Mexico, and Nicaragua as well as Bearing Precious Seeds in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin.  He worked with Gideon’s International to provide the Word to people in need.  Joe volunteered at Canterbury Shaker Village, demonstrating and making Shaker brooms for 22 years.  He proudly made a broom for everyone of his family, many friends and presented them as wedding gifts. 

Joe was a member of the First Congregational Church of Pittsfield and the Freedom Baptist Church of Keystone Heights, FL where he wintered.  He was 70 year member of the American Legion Post #42 of Pittsfield and Barnstead Post; and 50+ year member of Corinthian Lodge #82 F & AM; Scottish Rite-Lodge of Perfection Valley of Concord and the 32nd Valley of Nashua, and 50+ year member of James Farrington Pleiades Chapter #7 Order of the Eastern Star.

He leaves behind daughters Elizabeth “Beth” (Kenneth) Collins of Alton and Evelyn “Lynn” Sheehy-Richard of Pittsfield; five grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchlildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife Madeline “Maddy” (Huckins) Rogers; a daughter Lesley Welcome; grandson Thomas James “TJ” Welcome; three brothers Archie, Malcolm and William Rogers; and sisters Mary Gosse and A. Frances Tibbetts.

Services-Memorial calling hours will be held Sunday, July 25th from 2-4pm in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom, NH.  A Masonic service will be observed at 2pm and an Eastern Star Service will be observed at 3pm.    A memorial service will be held Monday, July 26th at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church, 24 Main Street, Pittsfield, NH.  Interment with military honors will be at 2pm at the Floral Park Cemetery, Pittsfield, NH.  Arrangements are under the care of Emmons Funeral Home.   In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Gideon’s International (Starke Camp Keystone Heights FL), the First Congregational Church of Pittsfield, 24 Main St., Pittsfield, NH 03263 or Granite VNA, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301
