<p> </p> <p>David Lee Mitchell, 64, of Justice, WV, departed this life on Sunday, July 18, 2021, from his residence, after a courageous battle with cancer.</p> <p>Born August 5, 1956, at Iaeger, WV, he was the son of Robert “Bob” Mitchell, Sr., of Harts, WV, and the late Winona Nadine Walls Mitchell.</p> <p>In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Donald “Peco” and Loretta Standifur.</p> <p>Before his retirement, David worked as a postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. He had also worked as a police officer in Williamsburg, VA. A proud U.S. Veteran, he faithfully served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in the spring of 1980. David had many hobbies and was a lover of music. He played various musical instruments, was a very talented artist, and loved his canine companion, Gracie. Most of all, David loved his family, and he will be deeply missed.</p> <p>David is survived by his wife, Kimberly Standifur Mitchell; two sons, Tony Mitchell of Port Orchard, WA, and Scott Clark of Ohio; one daughter, Sarah Livingston of GA; one step-daughter, Jenny Carbaugh of Tullahoma, TN; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild due in October 2021; his father, Robert “Bob” (Barbara) Mitchell of Harts, WV; two brothers, Robert Mitchell, Jr., of Titusville, FL, and Tim “Tater” (Tonda) Mitchell of Delbarton, WV; one sister, Sherry Lopez of Orlando, FL; two brothers-in-law, Kevin (Donna) Standifur of Princeton, WV, and Kerry Standifur of Accoville, WV; his beloved canine companion, Gracie. Additionally, David also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, countless cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.</p> <p>To honor David's wishes, his remains will be cremated, and there will be no services.</p> <p>Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.</p> <p> </p>August 5, 1956 - July 18, 202108/05/195607/18/2021
