Viola L. Doss, 81, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2021. She was born in Roanoke, daughter of the late Arthur and Alice Rucker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Doss; son, David Doss; granddaughter, Shannon Doss; three sisters, Marie, Christine and Jean; three brothers, Lawrence, Ralph and Sambo. Viola retired from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital’s Housekeeping Department after 34 years of service. She loved being around her family. She also enjoyed watching her soap operas and playing bingo. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Debra LaTempa (J.P.); three sons, Curtis Doss (Melinda), Richard Doss (Robin), Jeffrey Doss (Sheri); two sisters, Judy Reynolds and Shirley Spence; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and her fur grandbabies. Her family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date.
