<p>Johnnie William Hunter, Jr. 75 died Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville. Born January 17, 1946 in Quantico, VA, he was the son of the late Johnnie William Hunter Sr. and Lola B. Vetetoe Hunter. Johnnie was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Wayne Kerr; a sister, Judy Brake; and two grandsons, Dillian and Wyatt Hunter. Johnnie loved God, his family and his country. He was a proud Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War era. He was a master mason and a 54 year member of Beech Lodge #240, Hendersonville, TN. A competitive and stern individual, Johnnie was set in his ways. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend he was willing to help others in any way he could. He had retired from Sears where he had been a repair technician. He shared his talent for fixing things and was known as the &ldquo;neighborhood repairman&rdquo;. Johnnie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dina Hunter; his five children, Johnnie Hunter III, Jimmy Hunter (Gina), Wade Hunter (Darlene), Jeff Hunter (Sara), and Lola Worthington; nine grandchildren, Johnnie Hunter IV, Justin Hunter, Christopher Hunter, Austin Hunter, Morgan Wallace, Joseph Hunter, Jason Hunter, Cassie Hunter, and Cali Blair; seventeen great-grandchildren, Johnnie V, Alexis, Cameron, Emilia, Elowen, Scottlynn, Jaxson, Jonathan, Brody, Skylar, Jensen, Conner, Raelynn, Jaylen, Grace, Bentlee, and Bo, Visitation will be held at Cole &amp; Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Thursday from 4-7 pm and Friday from 9 &ndash; 11 am. A Life Celebration Service will be held at 11 am at the funeral home followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Christopher, Austin, Johnnie IV, Justin, Joseph, Jason, Aiden &amp; Johnnie Ray; Honorary Pallbearers will be Cassi, Cali, and Morgan.</p>
