Kathryn Roberts

On Sunday, July 18, 2021, Kathryn Mears Roberts, loving wife and mother of two, passed away at the age of 75. Kathryn was born March 24,1946 in Alvarado, TX to Jessie "Shorty" and Lula Thompson Mears. She was the youngest of their 7 children. Kathryn graduated from Alvarado High School in 1964. On September 17, 1965, she married Jerry "J.J" Roberts in Cleburne, TX. They raised two children, Jeff & Jennifer. Kathryn worked as an electrical assembler for General Dynamics and retired from Lockheed Martin. Kathryn had a passion for life and was often described as a little firecracker. She was known for her spunky wit, infectious smile, and her deep love for family. Her dogs brought her great joy and she loved to include them in her activities like going to the lake and camping. Kathryn came from a family of talented musicians and fiddle music was always a huge part of Kathryn's life. She also loved to dance, was a collector of Elvis memorabilia and a classic car enthusiast. Other talents and hobbies included bowling, crafting, painting ceramics, and doll making. Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Delta Schad, Visie Scarberry and Arthur Mears. She is survived by her husband Jerry "J.J." Roberts; son, Jeff Roberts and Imelda; daughter, Jennifer Villaire and Sean; grandchildren, Alison Villaire, Seth Roberts, Katelyn Roberts, Evan Villaire, Elijah Roberts; great-grandchild, Remington Newton; siblings Lavada Moore, Walter Mears, Jesse Mears and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside service for Kathryn Mears Roberts, 75, of Burleson, TX, 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 23, 2021 will be conducted at the Godley Cemetery with Reverend Scott Sharman officiating. Open visitation will be 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Thursday at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
