Russell Allan Bolin Obituary

On Monday, July 19, 2021, Russell Allan Bolin, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 67. Russell was born on August 27, 1953 in Bloomington, Indiana to Russell and Mary Jane Bolin. He received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 1995. Following his service in the U.S. Navy, he spent his career working the court systems of Colorado and as a civil servant for the U.S. government. On June 4, 1977, he married Janice. They raised one son, Scott, and one daughter, Michelle. Russ had a passion for cooking, the quest for knowledge, nature, telling a good story and the company of friends and family. He also loved to barbeque, entertain friends, family, and co-workers and he combined this favorite hobby with a love for world travel, seeing every continent except Africa and Antarctica. A devout football fan, he rode the wave of Bronco nation over six decades with grace and poise. An unassuming artist, he loved literature, prose, woodcraft and music. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He was a man of deep and devout faith in Christ. Russell was preceded in death by his father, Russell; his mother, Mary Jane; and sister, Carol. He is survived by his wife Janice; his two children, Scott and Michelle; and his grandchildren, Caella, Antonio, Hannah, Robert, Jessa, Sophia, and Jayce. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colorado Springs Care and Share or the Colorado Springs Salvation Army.
