Mary Alice Ashworth, age 100, of New Paris, OH passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, OH. She was born May, 26 1921 in Preble Co., OH to the late George M. and Minnie (Tellis) Fudge. Mary enjoyed gardening, agriculture, and spending time with her family. Mary was a former Trustee of Preble County’s Historical Society, belonged to the Eldorado Garden Club, a past President of the Preble County Homemakers Club, and spent 5 years as a 4-H advisor. She loved to travel and sight-see. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Howard E. Ashworth and brother George Fudge Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Larry) Kesler, Jean (Jack) Kitchel, Kay (Ron) Scammahorn; grandchildren Kyle (Elaine) Kesler, Karlynda (Dennis) Stiver, Dawn (John) Wilson, Ronda Scammahorn, Chris (Kathy) Kitchel, Tracy (Laura) Kitchel, Adam Scammahorn, and Aaron (Roseanne) Scammahorn; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, OH. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Brethren Retirement Community 750 Chestnut St, Greenville, OH 45331 or the Eldorado United Methodist Church 341 S Main St, Eldorado, OH 45321.
