<p>Sandra &ldquo;Sandy&rdquo; Jean Cox New, 60, of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at her home. She was born on June 29, 1961 in Danbury, NC to the late James Decater Cox and Annie Ruth Lawson Cox. Sandy had a love for cross-stitching and reading books. She was always known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Cox and brother, Billy Cox.</p> <p>Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Charles Gilbert New of the home; one son, Jessie New (Crystal Wood) of Lexington; one daughter, Charlene Perez of Lexington; five grandchildren, Cameron, Darius, Alisha, Hailey, and Tyler; two sisters, Rita Brinkley (Doug) of Thomasville, and Martha Ali (Mir) of Trinity; one brother, James Cox (JoAnn) of Thomasville; sister-in-law, Annette; six nieces and nephews, Tanya (Ricky), Jimmy (Ava), Alan (Nicole), Crystal (Cory), Shawn, and Rehana; special friend, Rhonda; and Loving dog, Susie. &nbsp;</p> <p>A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Humane Society of the donor&rsquo;s choice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.</p>

So sorry to here of Sandy’s passing. I am honored to have known her. Her work ethic was an inspiration to all who worked with her. Although the years have passed, she will always be dear to me.

I can remember walking down the long drive way with Sandy when we were children going to Alice's store to get a soda poop. Sorry for the families loss I'll be sending prayers your way. Haven got a new angel may she RIP🙏

I am so sorry for you all! I am going to miss Sandy so much! I will cherish when I ran into Sandy and Charles at Walmart a week ago. So glad I got to tell her I loved her! Prayers and love 💖
