Elaine M. Larsen, age 94, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Avantara Lake Norden. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Rev. Dan Ofstehage will officiate. Music will be provided by Marian Riddle as pianist with Marlys Larsen and Jenny Wipf as vocalists. The service will be Live-Streamed on Crawford-Osthus Face-Book Live. The family is requested to meet at the church by 9:30 a.m. for a family prayer service.  

There will be no visitation. 

Burial will be at the Danish Evangelical Church Cemetery in Lake Norden, SD. 

Elaine was born on May 15, 1927, to Chester and Hulda (Schlender) Perkins, in Bryant, SD. She was a 1945 graduate of Bryant High School. On September 7, 1948, Elaine was united in marriage to James Larsen in Bryant, SD. They lived and farmed in the Erwin area until the middle 1980’s. In 1994 the couple moved to Watertown where she babysat her grandchildren as well as others for some time. 

She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Norden, SD. Elaine enjoyed gardening and reading. She greatly loved having her children and great-grandchildren stopping by and playing cards and board games with her. 

Elaine is survived by her two children, Neal (Jan) Larsen of Watertown, SD and Arlen (Marlys) Larsen of De Smet, SD; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Floyd Perkins; and two sisters, Dorothy Willoughby and Laurel Barnes.
