Charles J. Taylor, Jr., 81, of Franklin, MO, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the Harry S Truman Veterans Memorial Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born October 22, 1939, in Rocheport, MO, a son of the late Charles Jesse Taylor and Mary (Nowlin) Taylor. He was a graduate of New Franklin High School in New Franklin, MO. Charles was united in marriage on June 6, 1964, in Boonsboro, MO, to Carol L. Wilkerson, who preceded him in death on January 5, 2019.
Charles was the owner of Taylor Plumbing Company for many years, and was also a longtime farmer. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Charles was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He enjoyed Elk Hunting and went for over 50 consecutive years.
Charles is survived by two daughters: Lisa Wilkinson (Neal); Janet Davis (Gary); three grandchildren: Susan Wilkinson, Tyler Davis, and Ashley Davis; three sisters: Inez Hickam, Martha Traxler, Barbara Sontag; two brothers: Warren Taylor (Glenda), and Albert Taylor (Rosemary). Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Carol Taylor; an infant sister: Dorothy Louise Taylor; three brothers-in-law: Jim Ed Hickam, Carl Traxler, Bill Sontag; and a nephew: Randy Sontag.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Nilson-Millard Cremation and Burial Center in Columbia, Missouri.
