In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Woodland Hills Baptist Church Building Fund or St. Jude's Children's Hospital Lonal LeRoy Smith was born in Oklahoma City to Lester & Ellen Smith on October 14, 1934, he peacefully passed away on July 19, 2021. In his youth, LeRoy moved with his family to Coalgate Oklahoma where he played football. After his family moved back to Oklahoma City, LeRoy continued to play football for John Marshall High School, where he graduated from in 1952. LeRoy worked early on with heavy equipment & construction. He was part of the Urban Renewal of Downtown OKC, helping with the demolition of the historic Huckins Hotel & other buildings. In 1959, LeRoy married Carol Anne Baughman & they set up residence in Oklahoma City. Their son Blake was born in 1960 & their daughter Leslie was born in 1962. In 1968 the family moved to Newcastle where LeRoy was very active in the community. LeRoy was a member of the Lion’s club & was instrumental in helping develop Little League Football in Newcastle. LeRoy was an avid outdoorsman & loved to fish, hunt, play golf, ride horses, motorcycles & spending weekends at the lake. LeRoy was also a world traveler. He & his wife Carol traveled to many places with the Pioneers and on trips with his sister-In-law & brother-in-law, Nadine & Milton Humphrey. They went on safaris in Africa, kissed the Blarney Stone, Jeeped the mountains of Colorado, enjoyed Luaus in Hawaii & cooked dinner in the Outback of Australia. They also visited many national parks & multiple states in the US. In 1999, LeRoy & Carol moved to Tuttle and recently moved to Harbor Chase in Oklahoma City. LeRoy was an active member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church of Newcastle. LeRoy retired from CMI Roadbuilding in 2008 where he was an Operation Manager. LeRoy is preceded in death by his Son Blake; Parents Lester & Ellen; Sister Mary Ellen Hammer; Brother Gary Smith. He is survived by his Wife Carol Smith of the home; Daughter Leslie Johnson & husband Jerry of Tuttle; Grandson Bryan Welch & his wife Ashley Welch of Norman; Grandson Eric Welch of Moore; Grandson Jake Welch of Norman; Great Grandsons Kallen & Carson Welch of Norman; Several nieces & nephews; As well as many loving extended family members and friends.October 14, 1934 - July 19, 202110/14/193407/19/2021

LeRoy was such a gentleman. His smile and easy manners will be missed by all. My love and prayers are with you all. I had open heart surgery and will not be able to attend. Carol, hope to see you soon.

Thinking of you Leslie, Carol, and The Boys, Ashley, wishing you many happy memories. I loved sharing the Welch family gatherings with LeRoy. His smile lit up the room and such a great laugh! A true gentleman with a big heart. RIP.
