<p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Elijah William Clay, 40 of St Pauls, NC passed away on 7 July 2021. Eli was a mechanic by profession and traveled across the world into war-torn environments to repair and modify vehicles used by the soldiers of all branches. Eli was a seasoned mechanic and was recognized for his technical skill and level of professionalism. Eli will be remembered as a free spirit, independent, and driven to take all of life into his own hands and draw upon its essence and purpose. Eli&rsquo;s passions involved cars, fishing, and watching professional football.&nbsp;&nbsp;Whether deep sea, pier, or freshwater fishing, or watching football, Eli was sure to enjoy the camaraderie and pranks of his brothers David, Julian, and Dylan whom he deeply loved. Eli loved his mom, Maria, dearly. His appetite thoroughly enjoyed her cooking, forever and never getting enough of her culinary creations and conversations. Eli placed his love of family and friends first. He believed in living life without any regrets. Eli will be sorely missed.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">&nbsp;A visitation and funeral service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm,&nbsp;&nbsp;at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, 319 West Broad Street, St. Pauls, NC 28384</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Eli is survived by his daughter Isabella Clay; fianc&eacute;e Nadine Jones; parents Kenneth &amp; Maria Mask; brothers David Clay, Julian Mask, Dylan Mask; grandmother Eva Mask; aunt/uncles Louisa &amp; Phillippe Arrieux, Doreen &amp; Jody Adams, Joe Mask, Peter &amp; Amy Mask; nieces and nephews Drue Clay, Simeon Clay, Camron Clay, Jaylynn Clay, Jaslynn Clay, Harmony Clay; cousins Jacques Arrieux, Andreas Arrieux, Jeremy Adams, Tim Adams, Ryan Adams, Joel Adams, and Brian Mask.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ASPCA in your area.
