Elsie Loraine Kester, 79, Logansport, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Franciscan Health Lafayette. Born February 20, 1942, in Greenwood, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Samuel Spicer and Pearlie Mae Winters. On January 23, 1961 she was married to Billy Joe Kester, who preceded her in death on May 28, 1999. Loraine worked as a bookkeeper. She was raised as a Baptist and her love for the Lord stayed with her in every moment of her life. She is survived by two children: Billy Ray (Stacy) Kester, Logansport, and April (Rick) Haumesser, Bartlett, Tennessee; her beloved grandchildren, Len Warren (Erin) Kester, Donald Scott DeKarske, Billy Joe Kester, Charlie (Laura) Haumesser, Heather (Keenan) Roberts; and four great-grandchildren, Aurora Haumesser, and Emerson, Ellis and Piper Roberts. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Alex Robert DeKarske and six siblings. Her life will be celebrated by her family at a private scattering ceremony in Memphis, Tennessee. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fisher Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services.
