John Henry Miner, 86, of Grantsville, MD, died Sunday, July 18, 2021, at his nephew’s home. Born May 27, 1935, in Somerset, PA, he was the son of the late Victor and Delphia (Platter) Miner. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Reed Miner; two sisters, Melda Bittinger and Anna Jean Heston. Mr. Miner was retired from the Maryland State Highway and a member of the Bethesda Church of the Brethren. He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Ann (Ed) Gills, Grasonville, MD; one sister-in-law, Rosella Miner, Grantsville; three grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rodney Durst and Pastor Dennis Durst officiating.
