Presque Isle: Norman M. Pelkey 79, went home to be with the Lord on July 14,2021 at the Aroostook House of Comfort. He was born in Presque Isle on April 29, 1942 the son of Edmund and Helen (Worth) Pelkey. Norman was a long haul truck driver for many years and loved traveling the country. He was self taught to play any string instrument, he loved to play and sing for whoever would listen. Norman also had his pilot’s license and loved to fly. Most recently he loved to ride his bike around town. Norman is survived by his two daughters; Norma Jean Dawson and Loretta Lynn Tilley of Presque Isle, four grandsons and four remaining siblings; Jimmy, Lawrence, Edith and Betty. His best friend Donald Devoe Sr., an adoptive sister Colleen Cochran and his driving buddy Opal Lee known as “Driving Miss Daisy “. Norman was predeceased by his parents, a brother Ronald, two sisters Beulah and Joyce. The family would like to thank the staff at Northern Light AR Gould Hospital and the Aroostook House of Comfort for all the care and support. A graveside service will be held 11AM Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. Vinal Wilcox officiating.
