Parkston – Cora Mae Winter, 90, went to her heavenly home Monday, July 19 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston. Memorial service will be Friday, July 23 at 10:30 am, visitation beginning at 9:30 am, at Parkston Congregational Church in Parkston. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston. Cora Mae was born December 29, 1930 to Merlin and Josephine (Tiede) Zenner in Minneapolis, MN. She attended and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in Fergus Falls, MN. She attended Macalester College and received a degree in business. On October 10, 1954, she was united in marriage to Darrell Winter in Fergus Falls. They moved to Parkston, SD where Cora Mae worked for Parkston High School as the school secretary. She was a member of Parkston Congregational Church where she served on the church board, taught Sunday school and was a member of the ladies aide. She was a Brownies leader, was a member of the literary club, and enjoyed reading, knitting, cross-stitching and playing Bridge and other card games. Grateful for having shared her life are her 4 children, David Winter of Parkston, SD, Tom (Gene) Winter of Phoenix, AZ, Nancy (Jay) Mills of Manhattan, KS, and Sandra Winter of Manhattan, KS, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Darrell; a sister, Elouise; a brother-in-law, John Krebs; a nephew, Mark Winter; and 2 brothers-in-law, Norman (Rosaline) Winter and Louis (Grace) Winter.
