On Friday, July 16th, Marian Marie Lawrence (née Serio) was called home to sit peacefully beside her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong resident of Baltimore, MD, she was born to Mildred Serio (née Martin) and Vincent Serio on October 22, 1935. Preceded in passing by her brother, Bernard Serio.

She is survived by her cherished husband of 65 years, James Calvin Lawrence, her loving children Melissa Law and James Lawrence, grandchildren Kendall and Barrett. She is also survived by her siblings Patricia Vermeulen (Fred) and Marlene Ward (John), Sister in law Mary Margaret Mack and many cherished nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. They remember her lovingly for her devotion to family and faith.

Many will know her by the tastes and smells of her kitchen - having fed hundreds while volunteering for Teen Challenge Ministries, and cooking regularly for Wednesday night dinners at her longtime church. Always the evangelist, she served with Gospel Bead Ministries to spread the Word of her God.  She was an expert homemaker and a working woman, employed by the Maryland National Bank for 20 years. Stories of her days dancing at the Baltimore Alacazar and the Keith's Roof in the 1950's and her many visits with family and friends to Ocean City, MD and Bethany Beach, DE will fill our hearts and memories with joy for years to come. In her last few years,  Marian enjoyed playing bingo with dear friends and visits to the Ice Cream Cottage.

A viewing for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, July 21st from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Ambrose Funeral Home in Arbutus, MD. The funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gilchrist Hospice.  The family thanks Gilchrist for providing extraordinary care at the end of her arduous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
