Shirley Ann Fernandez, age 85, passed away on June 25th, 2021, at her home in Corrales. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on July 20th, 2021, at 8AM held at The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary located at 9502 4th St. NW Albuquerque 87114. Burial services will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery following rosary and mass.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She graduated from Logan Highschool in 1954 and moved to New Mexico in 1962 where she married her husband, Atilano. She worked at the United States Department of Agriculture for 35 years as a Program Assistant. Shirley enjoyed spending time on her bowling team, reading, watching westerns, sewing, needlepoint, and gardening. She loved spending time with family, going to church and going out to eat.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Antoinetta Fernandez, son-in-law, Sergio Castillo, two grandchildren, Rebecca and Adrian Castillo, and sisters Judy Meade and Nancy Wagner. She is preceded in death by her husband, Atilano Fernandez, parents, John Van Cleave and Lilllie Van Cleave, brother, Kenneth Van Cleave, and sisters, Marilyn Ford, and Elaine Schuelke.

We will always carry her memory in our hearts. We will miss her very much.
