Rocco Basta

God called Rocco peacefully on July 14, 2021 at the age of 87. He will be forever loved by his wife, Vincenza. Cherished by his dear children, Peter, Joe (Marianna) and Mario (Maria). Rocco will never be forgotten by his grandchildren, Stefano, Marco, Anthony and Sabrina. He is now reunited in heaven with his parents, Rocco and Cristina and his brothers, Peter, Antonio, Michele and Luigi. Rocco will be forever missed by his sister, Giovanna. Rocco was a very hard-working man who loved his family. He was very passionate about farming, Italian cars, soccer and was an expert ballroom dancer. His summers were spent at Rocco’s Tomato Farm and his winters down in sunny Florida. He always had a smile on his face and he just LOVED life. He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives and many friends. Visitations will take place at the DeMarco Funeral Home (Woodbridge Chapel- 8003 Weston Rd. 905-850-9500) on Friday July 16, 2021 from 4-9pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 17, 2021 at St. Wilfrid’s Roman Catholic Church (1675 Finch Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario). Entombment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery (7241 Jane Street, Concord, Ontario.) If so desired, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society on behalf of the Basta Family. There will be no RSVP needed to enter the Funeral Home. When coming into the Funeral Home, please sign the “Guest Book” and write your phone number down beside your name for contact tracing purposes, before entering our visitation suites. Our staff will be constantly sanitizing and monitoring the Funeral Home if any assistance is needed. We kindly remind all guests who are coming to pay their respects, to always remember to practice physical distancing and to avoid all physical contact. Please note that it is mandatory by the Government of Ontario that all family and friends attending any type of funeral service, must be wearing a facial covering. We are asking for only the most immediate family members to join us at the Funeral Home on the morning of the funeral, as we ask everyone else to please meet us at the church.
