Deborah Ann Rankin Obituary

DEBORAH ANN RANKIN was born January 11, 1957, in Greenville, South Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Frederick L. Johnson and Doris Miller and was loved and raised by the late Willie B. Lomax.  She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the afternoon of July 7, 2021.

With her strong will and independent nature, she left South Carolina at the age of 22 to start a new life in Pittsburgh, PA where she met the love of her life, Sydney Rankin at the Kays Boys Club in the Hill District. They later married and lived a full life until his untimely death in 2003.

She loved the Lord and her family. Her zest for life and positive outlook were contagious. She enjoyed reading, a good tv series, crafts like making wreaths and decorating for weddings, cooking, and trying new recipes.

While in Pittsburgh, she was active at the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member for over 20 years.  She served as a Deaconess, Financial Secretary, Missionary and was always willing to assist and donate her time to the service of the Lord and others.  Over the last year and a half, she was attending the First Nottoway Baptist Church in Crewe, Virginia where she was active in bible study, Sunday school and often gave to bless others with her time and talents.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Doris Miller, her daughter, Katrina Rankin, her son, Sydney Rankin, her grandson, Aaron Davis, as well as a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
